Le Bengal est né dans les pensées de Mlle Jill Sudgen ( généticienne ) - devenue Mme Jean Mill - afin de protéger les léopards du braconnage et du traffic intensif de peau y étant lié. Il est né ( en 1963) d' une hybridation entre un Félis Prionalurus Bengalensis et une femelle American Shorthair. L'espèce du  Felis Prionalurus Bengalensis est un chat-léopard d' Asie ( Asian Leopard Cat - ALC), se trouvant dans plusieurs pays comme L' indochine, la Chine, l' Inde...pour résumé de la Sibérie au Népal...et bien sûr,son poil, sa robe est particulier à la région dans laquelle il vit ( conditions climatiques, flore...)

  Le défi de Mme Mill étant, au travers de ses croisements (Mau Egyptien, American Shorthair, Burmese,Siamois...), d' avoir un chat au caratère équilibré et doux ( à la différence d'un félin sauvage qui est craintif) tout en gardant la robe sauvage...elle le réalisa en 1985 lors de la première fois où elle exposa ses Bengals...pour le plus grand bonheur des passionnés de félin!!!

  The Bengal Cat was born in the thoughts from Miss Jill Sudgen (geneticist) - become Mrs Jean Mill - in order to protect the leopards from the poaching and the intensive traffic of skin which is interconnected about.It was born ( in 1963) from a hybridization between a Felis Prionalurus Bengalensis and a female American Shorthair. The species of Felis Prionalurus Bengalensis ( Asian Leopard Cat - ALC),being in several countries Indochina, China, India...for summary of Siberia to Nepal...and its hair, its coat  is particular with the area which it lives ( climatic conditions, flora...)

The challenge of Mrs.Mill being, through her crossings ( Egyptian Mau, American Shorthair, Burmese, Siamois...), to have a cat with the well-balanced nature and gentle ( with the difference of the wild cat which is apprehensive) while keeping on the wild dress...She carried out it in 1985 where the first time where exposed her Bengals Cats...for the greatest happiness of wild cats lovers!!!
